Skin Cancer Alternative Treatment
Treatments for seborrheic dermatitis?
I am a 23 year old male and I have seborrheic dermatitis which mainly shows up around my nose. I’ve used the shampoos and it’s not something I would be willing to do every day.
A couple years ago a dermatologist prescribed Elidel and gave me a sample. I used the sample and it worked pretty well – the only thing that has worked. It burned a little at first but it treated my dry flaky skin around the nose, and I had to use it at least every other day in order to keep it under control.
However I did not go and get the prescription because I did some research on Elidel and found that it was related to some cases of cancer. I also found that my seborrheic dermatitis might be caused by a food allergy. I would really like to use Elidel, or an alternative, but I am worried about the risk of cancer directly related to it.
Hello there. I suggest that you should try the herbal cream for seborrheic dermatitis by Salus2005. It is sold on eBay and it works faster and better than anything else for me.
Best,
Bernadette

Cancers of the Skin: Proceedings of the 8th World Congress $172 Skin cancer is the most frequent malignancy in humans and its incidence is still increasing. This situation calls for major efforts to manage the disease. Preventive measures must include reduced UV exposure and an enhanced common awareness of skin lesions. Advanced surgical techniques allow safe removal with excellent cosmetic results. In many cases alternative treatment modalities such as radiotherapy, cryosurgery and photodynamic therapy are applicable. The development of optimal sun screens and UV-protective clothes, new tools for early diagnosis of malignant lesions including videomicroscopy, improved evaluation of biopsy material and new treatment schemes will contribute to better patient care. New developments in therapy including pegylated interferons, cytokine-inducing molecules, monoclonal antibodies and vaccination approaches using peptides, dendritic cells, viruses or nDNA give hope for well-tolerated and efficient treatments. |

Healing touch and health-related quality of life in women with breast cancer receiving radiation therapy. $49.99 Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) therapies are increasing in popularity in the United States, as demonstrated by an upsurge in utilization. As early as 1940, the National Institutes of Health identified the need to explore alternative therapies for cancer. Finally, in 1998, the National Cancer Institute developed the Office of Cancer Complementary and Alternative Medicine to promote evaluation of complementary and alternative therapies. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of Healing Touch to improve Health-related Quality of Life (HRQOL) as measured by the Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Breast (FACT-B) among women with early stage breast cancer receiving radiation therapy. Healing Touch is an energy-based intervention that assists in restoring balance to the biofield to facilitate health and healing. The conceptual framework for this study was M-theory, the theory that unites the five String theories. A single-blinded, placebo-controlled randomized design was used. Comparison of the Healing Touch group (n=20) and a placebo group (n=20), in women with early stage breast cancer receiving radiation therapy, demonstrated significant improvement for the women that received Healing Touch in overall HRQOL (p < .038) and the subscale of physical wellbeing (p < .020) over the course of 4-6 weeks of radiation therapy, with a weekly Healing Touch or a placebo treatment. This research builds on previous research in Healing Touch with a breast and gynecologic cancer treatment population and supports previous findings of global improvement in HRQOL. These data underscore the importance of using Healing Touch interventions to improve the HRQOL for women undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Breast cancer remains the most commonly diagnosed cancer (other than skin cancer) and the second leading cause of cancer deaths among women in the United States. A safe, noninvasive modality, Healing Touch can be easily administered by nurses |

Hormones and Your Health: The Smart Woman’s Guide to Hormonal and Alternative Therapies for Menopause $0.99 Were the panicky headlines about the dangers of hormone replace-ment therapy (HRT) true? Is “as low a dose as possible for as short a time as possible” really the only safe approach to HRT? Is there anywhere you can turn for clear, sensible, science-based answers to these and scores of other crucial questions?Yes. In Hormones and Your Health, renowned medical researcher and celebrated author Winnifred Cutler gives you the solid, succinct, in-depth information you need to take control of your health and work with your doctor to make the treatment decisions that are right for you.Drawing on the latest scientific evidence, Dr. Cutler offers balanced information on mainstream and alternative approaches to women’s hormonal issues and explains the connection between hormones, sexuality, bone and cardiovascular health, memory, and breast cancer. She demystifies complex issues and reveals why some of the most commonly prescribed regimens, while they may be great for “big pharma” and medical society interests, could be all wrong for you. She helps you decide which hormones to request and which ones to refuse and how to get the best possible support from your doctor before you make a final decision. You’ll discover what you need to know about the differences between synthetic hormones and bioidentical hormones and what that difference means for you. You’ll learn how a carefully chosen long-term hormone therapy regimen can improve bone, brain, blood vessel, and even breast health as it helps you maintain an active sex life and keeps you feeling comfortable in your own skin.Among Dr. Cutler’s more controversial recommendations, she warns that not every woman benefits from the universally recommended annual mammogram. She argues that given the frequency of false positives, unnecessary biopsies and radiation exposure, and the stress that |

Life, on the Line: A Chef’s Story of Chasing Greatness, Facing Death, and Redefining the Way We Eat $95.99 “One of America’s great chefs” (Vogue) shares how his drive to cook immaculate food won him international renown-and fueled his miraculous triumph over tongue cancer. In 2007, chef Grant Achatz seemingly had it made. He had been named one of the best new chefs in America by Food & Wine in 2002, received the James Beard Foundation Rising Star Chef of the Year Award in 2003, and in 2005 he and Nick Kokonas opened the conceptually radical restaurant Alinea, which was named Best Restaurant in America by Gourmet magazine. Then, positioned firmly in the world’s culinary spotlight, Achatz was diagnosed with stage IV squamous cell carcinoma-tongue cancer. The prognosis was grim, and doctors agreed the only course of action was to remove the cancerous tissue, which included his entire tongue. Desperate to preserve his quality of life, Grant undertook an alternative treatment of aggressive chemotherapy and radiation. But the choice came at a cost. Skin peeled from the inside of Grant’s mouth and throat, he rapidly lost weight, and most alarmingly, he lost his sense of taste. Tapping into the discipline, passion, and focus of being a chef, Grant rarely missed a day of work. He trained his chefs to mimic his palate and learned how to cook with his other senses. As Kokonas was able to attest: The food was never better. Five months later, Grant was declared cancer-free, and just a few months following, he received the James Beard Foundation Outstanding Chef in America Award. Life, on the Line tells the story of a culinary trailblazer’s love affair with cooking, but it is also a book about survival, about nurturing creativity, and about profound friendship. Already much- anticipated by followers of progressive cuisine, Grant and Nick’s gripping narrative is filled with stories from the world’s most renowned kitchens-The French Laundry, Charlie Trotter’s, el Bulli- and sure to expand the audience that made Alinea the |

Most are benign (non-cancerous) and are related to fibrocystic changes. Benign breast tumors are abnormal growths, but they do not appear outside of the breast and they are not life-threatening.Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women, other than skin cancer. It is the second leading cause of cancer death in women after lung cancer. According to the American Cancer Society, about 178,500 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed in the U.S. in 2007 and about 40,500 American women will die from breast cancer. Currently, there are approximately 2 million breast cancer survivors in the U.S. The good news is that death rates from breast cancer continue to decline, particularly in women age 50 or younger, due to earlier detection through screening mammography as well as advances in treatment. The treatment strategy for breast cancer depends on the stage of the disease and the goals of care for the individual. Treatment usually consists of a combination of surgery, medication, radiation, and/or chemotherapy. An |
